A nightmare future of AR is closer than we think

Is AR going to make our life better or turn it into a nightmare reality overlaid with incessant ads? At SXSW we watched the short film HYPER-REALITY by Keiichi Matsuda with Galit Ariel, who's publishing a book on our AR future: Augmenting Alice. Matsuda's film shows a possible dystopian future of AR and we wanted to know if Ariel thought it might be coming true. Spoiler: it already is.
