Nadya Peek (MIT) | TNW Conference | How to make something that makes (almost) anything

Digital fabrication brings precision and complexity to manufacturing, enabling accuracy through automation and machines. The ultimate goal of much digital fabrication research is the Star Trek Replicator-- a one-button solution machine for any product. However, I demonstrate an alternative to one-machine-to-rule-them-all. Instead, I implement object-oriented hardware to meet object-oriented software, enabling users to rapidly prototype their own digital fabrication machines.
