LITTIL step for man, big step for mankind by Pepijn Schildkamp & Eddy Vos
About this talk
LITTIL started as an initiative of Devoxx4Kids Netherlands during the covid period. How can we teach children programming while we are all limited by the covid regulations. In this talk we show how we started with LITTIL as a greenfield open source project to bring our IT volunteers in contact with primary schools. Why? We support small Devoxx4Kids days in the classroom. Let me show you what we build and how we love to let people all over the world use this platform for free. After this talk I hope not only the Netherlands will bring these great Devoxx4Kids days to their schools, but also other countries. EDDY VOS Eddy works already ages in IT. The last 22 years within ABN AMRO were he started 19 years ago to get a Java passion. He loves to help other developers to get them to the next level and takes them to cool conferences and MeetUp evenings. But after getting kids he also wanted to try to get kids interested. That's how Eddy started in 2016 helping on his first Devoxx4Kids day. Since 2021 is Eddy participating in project LITTIL of Devoxx4Kids Netherlands as a developer / product owner. LITTIL will bring the Devoxx4Kids days to the classrooms. So giving a mini training of 4 hours to children in their own classroom. In 2022 Eddy was asked to join the Devoxx4Kids Netherlands board as a treasurer. PEPIJN SCHILDKAMP Pepijn is a Solution Architect at CRV with a main focus on Java development and Openshift.
