Most of us, however, live in the realities of an on-premise brownfield world. But now management wants to move to Azure, without losing data, and without disrupting users. In this talk, I’ll share experiences of moving existing, live systems to Azure, with zero data loss and minimum to zero downtime. I’ll walk through analyzing existing applications and infrastructure, and how to decide whether to re-platform for PaaS or simply lift-and-shift. We’ll also look at build and deployment scenarios to make sure we don’t have to stop all new development for our cloud migration. Finally, we’ll walk through a real-world, on-premise system and migrate it to Azure, live!
