Pains and gains of Kubernetes for Developers – a story from experience by Adrian Kurt, Bogdan Christescu Kubernetes is a powerful and extensible platform with a huge ecosystem of tools. But it is hard, or as Paul Dix said 'Kubernetes made the simple things hard and the hard things possible'. Since 'making hard things simpler' is pretty much our DNA, we'd like to show you how we have found ways to solve the challenges Kubernetes has brought to us. We have come a long way starting with PaaS on CF, collecting experience with production workloads in large scale environments for our own internal products & services and have thus come to know Kubernetes to the bone. So, we understand what we all need - which includes, but is not limited to, features and components that range from Knative for Workload Management, to Ingress Controller Contour, to building images from source code, to CD Tooling, observability, and more. In this session we want to talk about our journey: Where we and thus our expertise come from, what we do day to day, what this looks like in customer projects, and where we see the journey take us in the near future.
