The Metaverse is a concept that is getting more and more attention. In order for the Metaverse to be more than a glorified version of VR chat rooms it needs to solve the problem (actually many problems!) of how to anchor digital content in the real world. Let's look at the different methods used to reliably persist digital content in the real world, and look at what these techniques could enable as computing experiences come out of the screen and into the real world.
