Surviving a chip shortage - Inge Fredriksen - NDC TechTown 2022

The Tomra Reverse Vending Machines have several modules that were affected by the global chip-shortage. This talk looks at how Tomra worked through the crisis while delivering as promised. Notably we look at replacing MCUs, and handling a code base that was not prepared. We survived through a dedicated team, code re-architecturing, and coordination with marked support.
