Have you ever heard of the term "overqualified"? Well, I have. First thing I was told as a newbie was to remove my PhD from my resume because it is off putting to some hiring managers. There are areas where I struggled to adapt to the industry and areas where I knew universities have done a good job of preparing me for the "real world".
