DevOps is here to stay. It has become the de facto standard of our industry. Large and small companies are all thriving towards that goal. But what does it mean to do it? What does it mean for you as a developer, as a team leader, as a product owner? In the past 4 years, I have been leading the DevOps transformation across many teams in our organization. I have modeled processes, built tools, led discussions, sessions, workshops. I have pushed and been pushed in different directions. I have seen it all. I want to share that experience with you. I want to share what are the biggest challenges we faced. What personas I have encountered in the process and how I have dealt with them. I want to show you that it is not all sweets and roses, but it is also definitely not a suicide or a dead end. I will try to summarize my list of things you need to keep in mind, in order to be successful in that journey. I will share what we did wrong and what we did right. Where it hurts and where it shines. DevOps is cool and cruel at the same time. This is what makes it so fun and also what makes it work.
