Over the last 20 years of my career, I have been working with cybersecurity in both a professional and private capacity. In this talk, I will go through some of the missteps I made, what I could have done better and advice I would give to me now on various things like building out your security competence, creating security cultures within organisations, building security teams and how not to handle a vulnerability disclosure.
