Visualization of Violence in Colombia Often times, within the field of social sciences and humanitarian affairs, traditional approaches to data visualization fail to reflect the reality of certain issues, their variables and their effects. This lack can even occur in the process of building official reports that are used for informed decision-making. In this talk I will try to show how small changes in specific technical aspects can lead to a greater eloquence of the data, as well as a greater scope and understanding of the information.
